Stretch marks are caused by changes in the elasticity of our skin, in which the skin is forced to expand beyond its natural state. Pregnancy and weight gain are the most common causes of stretch marks on the body. When the skin stretches, the underlying layers “tear” and are then visible beneath the transparent outer layer.
Some people consider stretch marks unsightly and are self-conscious about their appearance, often hiding these marks as best they can. But let’s face it – the only swimsuit that will fully cover all areas affected by stretch marks would cover the body from neck to knees. What a great way to enjoy a beach vacation, huh?
