We all know that when you have a bad pimple outbreak, it’s devastating.  But what about the scars that are still here long after the pimple is gone?  How do you get rid of scars left behind?

You don’t have to suffer with pimple scars today.  There are many different scar treatments available, and most of them are effective in some way.  Of course, some are definitely more effective at getting rid of scars than others!

Let’s talk about a few of the more popular methods that are out there, for people like you and me who have a few pimple scars:

Dermabrasion:  This is a very popular method of removing scars, but it has to be done by a dermatologist.  It’s a controlled surgical abrasion of your skin.  The skin that is scarred is removed with abrasion, just like it sounds.  Once the new skin grows and heals, you’re left without any pimple scars.

Microdermabrasion:  Very similar to dermabrasion, but not quite so harsh on your skin.  Suction is used, and it’s actually just about as effective as dermabrasion.

Punch Excision:  This is when the scarred skin is removed with a little punch, and the wound is surgically placed together.  This is for larger pimple scars.

Laser Surfacing:  A laser is used to literally burn off the scars.  Performed properly, your new skin will be virtually scar free.

Acid treatment:  Mild organic acids are used to remove the top layer of skin.  The new skin will be soft, supple and scar free.

There are many other treatments available today which are effective and don’t involve expensive trips to the dermatologist.  For minor pimple scars, I use Revitol.  Revitol starts to fade my scars fast, so any time I want to get rid of scars fast, I reach right into my drawer and pull out the Revitol.

I tried several other creams that were advertised as working to help fade scars, but none of them worked very well.  One of my friends suggested that I try some Revitol, and once I did, I’ve never looked back!
