We’re starting to see more people in public wearing scars with pride. Padma Lakshmi, from the reality series, Top Chef, sports a scar on her right upper arm; the singer, Seal, has facial scars from a childhood illness. While scars sometimes define a person, for many it is an embarrassing detraction and they want to eliminate its appearance. Most of us tend to seek out the best scar treatment available.

For severe scarring, surgical procedures may be required to reduce the appearance of scars. (The scars themselves will never be fully removed, simply minimized).
